Mosman Library Intergenerational Biography Project for Schools
2007/2008: Mosman Municipal Council 'Once Upon a Time in Mosman' an intergenerational biography project for schools.
Life writing workshops were facilitated for seventy students (including gifted and talented) and their teachers from six schools in Mosman. Students interviewed senior citizens and then returned for a second workshop to explore ways of presenting the information creatively. Over 300 people attended the exhibition launched by Mike Monroe in October 2008. The coordinator, Mary Lou Byrne, said the response from students was enthusiastic and the project not only highlighted the talents of the young writers to the community but that the personal stories of their subjects 'has provided a significant resource in social history for Mosman Library's Local Studies Collection'.
